Grilled Chili Citrus Chicken Thighs

Updated: May 30

Grilling season is here, and it's the perfect time to add a little #AsianFlavor to your meals. Try this super easy and flavorful recipe: marinate chicken thighs for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 12 hours with Lemongrass By Chef Ooh Chili Citrus All Purpose Sauce. Grill to perfection and enjoy with your favorite easy side dish. Consider serving it with potato salad, pasta salad, or a fresh green salad. Happy spring grilling!

The Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of  chicken thighs

  • 1 Cup Chili Citrus All Purpose Sauce (chicken should be completely immersed in marinade)

  • Chopped fresh herbs (optional) for garnishing

  • Oil for grilling

Instructions:

1.     In a large Ziplock bag or container with a cover, combine the Chili Citrus All Purpose Sauce and chicken thighs

2.     Seal the bag or container to evenly coat the chicken thighs. Let the chicken marinate at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate to marinate for up to 12 hours (5-6 hours is ideal).

3.     When ready to grill preheat the grill to medium-high (375 to 400 degrees). If your chicken has been in the refrigerator, remove it and allow it to come to room temperature for at least 10 minutes. Clean and oil the grates.

4.     Place the chicken thighs on the grill smooth side down, shaking off any excess marinade. Cover the grill and let cook for 4 to 5 minutes on the first side, then flip. The chicken should lift off the grill relatively easily; if it is sticking, allow it to cook another minute or two, then try again.

5.     Continue cooking on the other side for 4 to 6 minutes more or until the chicken is cooked through. Do not overcook or your chick will be dry.

6.     Remove the chicken to a plate, cover, and let rest for at least 5 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh herbs and enjoy!
